In line with the directives of Mr. Alaa El-Din Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Adel Abdel-Azim, President of the Agricultural Research Center, and within the framework of cooperation with sister African and Arab countries to transfer and exchange expertise in the field of agriculture and food contaminant analysis, Prof. Dr. Hend Abdallah, Director of the Laboratory, announced the organization of an international scientific visit for Dr. Amira Anani, Director of Laboratories at the Tunisian National Authority for Food Safety (INSSPA), from the sister Republic of Tunisia.
The visit was hosted at the Laboratory’s Training Center in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in coordination with the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority, and under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture. The visit focused on quality management systems, quality control and quality assurance systems, and methods for the analysis of veterinary drugs.
The visit lasted for one week, during which the guest was introduced to the laboratory’s quality management systems and quality control and assurance procedures, with a particular emphasis on veterinary drug analysis. This included an overview of the required analytical instruments and techniques used in the department, as well as a detailed review of the workflow steps, starting from sample receipt and coding, through sample preparation and analysis, to the issuance of results, verification of their accuracy, comparison and interpretation of results, and finally the issuance of reports and certificates.
This initiative comes within the framework of the directives of the Egyptian political leadership to strengthen cooperation with sister African and Arab countries, promote the exchange of scientific and technical expertise, and provide all available capabilities across various fields to support and assist them, under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Agricultural Research Center.
